All sound preferences for Mail are handled in the actual Mail program preferences.Īs stated, not sure this will help anyone here but since I came across this earlier in my search to fix, I wanted to post my outcome and fix just in case.
#Mac os x phone call notification alert stuck 2017 mac#
In this process I did learn and confirm that the "Sound" option in Mac System Notification preferences is no longer handled there (its not even a box to check option anymore) in Big Sur. I understand some people may want outlook as well so the tier 3 engineer with Apple that was assisting me is going to look further into it for others.) I do not use Outlook so for me deleting that app was not an issue. I also had Microsoft Office installed with outlook and even tho I was not using outlook, as soon as I deleted Outlook (I kept Word and Excel installed) my Mail notifications started to work. The emails arrive on the iPhone Mail app, so the accounts not the issue either. These alerts often contain a telephone number for you to call. After about 3 hours today with Mac Support we stumbled on something by accident and I have had zero issues now since. The other kind of alert tells you that there is a problem with your computer, often locks you out of using it to heighten the anxiety and persuade you that there really is a problem, and offers to solve it. I would get the badge in the dock, but no notification of any type on my screen, or in the Notification Center and there would be NO notification sound either. I was not receiving ANY Apple Mail notifications at all. Not sure if this will help you/anyone but I was having this issue since I purchased the new MacBook with the M1 chip.
